Investigate the World
Communicate Ideas
For my math artifact, I chose a PowerPoint my peers and I did for our A.P Calculus class. For our project we decided to research finding volumes using integrals. First, we had to find the origin of volume and integrals. The person that discovered volume was a man named Archimedes. What's interesting is that Archimedes discovery of volume rooted from his discovery of buoyancy, which he discovered when sitting in his bathtub. The principles of integration were formulated independently by Isaac Newton and Gottfried Leibniz. Then, we came up with a problem using integrals to find the volume of a shape and solved. After finishing the PowerPoint we presented to the class our findings on Volume and Integrals.
